Project Budget of the Albanian Government for 2014

We have emphasized that so far- the new draft budget does not present any kind of productive strategy in support of the business, but instead considers the business a its unlimited reserves to charge and use as seen fit. That is why we are still insisting to negotiate with the Government in regard to 2014 budget.

First of all, Albania is surrounded by regional countries which currently withhold an income taxation level of about 10%. If our Government applies the new progressive tax, the big business in Albania shall be taxed by more than 15% and consequently the country shall lose its market competitiveness compared to the foreign investors.

Second: the progressive tax will entirely burden the big business! If we do a quick calculation: every government seeks ways on how to increase income and most of the time turns to the business through taxes. Albanian Government aims to waive up to 95% of the taxes for the small business, this automatically means that such burden shall be met by the rest of the economy!

This is unacceptable to many of our members and therefore to us! It is clear that the corporate are the ones generating employment and know how so much needed for the future of Albania. It is you, through investment and hard work, that carry forward the main weight of the economy development.
