Ministry of Energy and Industry signs Memorandum of Understanding with EBRD in Albania on Solar Energy
In a ceremony at the Ministry of Energy and Industry in Albania the Minister Mr. Gjiknuri and the Head of Albanian Office for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Matteo Colangeli added a new chapter on their existing MoU of long cooperation, aiming at enhancing the cooperation in promoting sustainable investment in solar power and renewable electricity generation.
Albania has, in February 2017, approved the Renewable Energy Legislation to encourage the diversification of the green energy production.
“The Memorandum is about the EBRD assistance to the Ministry of Energy to prepare auctions for projects on photovoltaic production plants as well as possible EBRD funding for any investment selected through a transparent and competitive process. The objective is to provide funding for projects on solar and wind power generation,” Gjiknuri said after the signing ceremony, according to ATA news.
