Albania offers not only a highly skilled labour force but also one of the lowest labour costs in the region. Labour relations between employee and employer are regulated by individual employment contracts pursuant to the Labour Code of the Republic of Albania and Law no. 8549, dated 11.11.1999 “On the Status of the Civil Employee”.
Albania adheres to all basic international labor organization conventions protecting worker rights.
Minimum Wage
The minimum wage in Albania is 21,000 ALL (starting from 01.07.2011)[1], approx. 146 Euro. The basic minimum monthly salary is paid for 8 working hours per day.
